MULL DRESS WITH TRAIN, C. 1805
The dress is made from a white cotton Indian muslin with white cotton embroidery. It has a low rounded neckline with a high-waisted bodice with short sleeves and a train. The neckline fullness is controlled by a drawstring which ties in the back. There is embroidery around neckline and down center front and around the hem of the sleeves and the hem of the skirt. Dress is completely unlined. Pattern also includes instructions for a version without a long train.
FIT:
This dress would have been worn over with a shift, stays or corset, and with at least one petticoat and a underdress (bodiced petticoat). With a drawstring neck- line and fitted waistband, both which are closed with ties, there is room for daily adjustments.
FABRIC:
The original exterior fabric is sheer cotton batiste or muslin and has no lining. Dresses made from solids or prints in silk, linen, cotton are found in various collections.
EMBROIDERY :
Leafy frond and berry design around neck, sleeve hem, and in center of sleeve. The hem of the skirt is embroidered with a 5-6" deep leafy vine with berries, which "climb" up the center front panel and around hem. Information on the embroidery is included but for experienced embroiders to interpret pictures. Limited scale pictures included.

When deciding which size is correct for you to use, measure your rib cage under your bust, prefer- ably with your stays and underpinnings on.
